Common name: Fingernail plant

Plant Description: A large species of Neoregelia that has characteristic pink tips to its leaves, hence the name. Foliage is broad and silver banded with the classic well in the centre of the rosette. Can get very large. These plants are now producing new shoots which will far outgrow the existing rosettes. Keep water in the well during summer, drier during winter.

Flower description:  Not really grown for its blooms, the inflorescence remains in the centre of the well and only individual flowers are usually visible just above the water in the well. They are short lived, but produced over several weeks and are purple.
